Farm Bureau is a grassroots membership organization focusing on preserving and protecting our agricultural economy and rural lifestyle. Farm Bureau’s voluntary, elected leaders and professional staff work hard for all Californians to ensure the rural economy’s growth, to protect the family farm, and to maintain the treasured natural resources that are so important to this state’s vitality and lifestyle.
As a Sacramento County Farm Bureau member, your interests are represented on the local, state and national level through our extensive network of staff and resources. Our state affiliate, California Farm Bureau Federation, works on behalf of 53 county organizations, representing over 60,000 member families. Our federal affiliate, works on behalf of members in all 50 states, representing over 6.2 million member families.
Farm Bureau focuses on advocacy, consumer education, media relations and membership services. We strive to be the voice of our agricultural community, so our member's voices are heard.
OUR STORY
In 1917, a small group of local farmers formed the Sacramento County Farm Bureau. The mission was to solve problems relating to the farm, farm home, and rural community. They recognized the advantages of organized action to help enhance their visibility as an industry among an ever changing world and economy.

4,000 acres of vital farmland are lost each year to urbanization. There is a great concern among farmers and ranchers, that not only is the practice of farming and ranching decreasing, but their rural way of life is being threatened. Area growers work hard to supply consumers with high quality products while battling such obstacles as increased production costs and water availability.
our vision
As the earth’s original conservationists, farmers and ranchers have a keen interest in preserving our precious land for future generations. Farmers are concerned with natural resources, animal health, water, and air quality, among others. Agriculture professionals are continuing to fund research in an effort to increase farm production and improve animal health.
