Hailey Bergounous is 9 years old and it is her fifth year with Range View 4-H. She is raising a breeding sheep named ‘Pickles’, Nigerian Dwarf Goats ‘Nibbles, Moo Moo, and Latte’, and she is also in horse project with her Quarter/Welsh pony ‘Bob’, and Hailey loves her stick horse named ‘Abigail’! When asked if she has ever been in a horse show before, she said she has shown her pony ‘Bob’ at gymkhana shows many times, but never at county fair. This will be her and ‘Bob’s’ first time showing at a county fair horse show. Hailey said, “I’ve shown Nigerian Dwarf Goats at fair three times, and this will be my fourth time showing at fair but first time showing her sheep and horse. Hailey is taking all her 4-H projects animals to the Sacramento County Fair, which’s starts on Thursday, May 24th at 10:00 a.m. She gets to camp at the Cal Expo RV Park all week. She said, “Most of the time you can find me working with my animals in the livestock barn at the sheep or Nigerian goat pens. I will miss some school, but I can always make up the work”. When asked what her most favorite thing about the county fair is, she said, “I really like the carnival rides and showing my animals!”. She is excited to show her breeding sheep 'Pickles', and next year wants to begin showing markets lambs to sell at the junior livestock auction.
