The Liberty Ranch FFA Chapter had an exciting and impactful month filled with leadership growth, competitive success, and hands-on service that truly reflects the heart of our organization.
The month kicked off with seven Liberty Ranch FFA members proudly representing our chapter at the Mariposa Field Day. Students competed in Job Interview, Impromptu Speaking, and Creed Speaking events, demonstrating confidence, professionalism, and strong communication skills. Two members, Ava Van Warmerdam and Ray Bradley, advanced to the finals in their respective contests. Ray Bradley earned a 5th place finish in the Impromptu Speaking contest, a huge achievement in a highly competitive event!
Later in the month, our chapter hosted its December FFA Meeting in the form of a Day of Service, which was an overwhelming success and one of the highlights of the year. This day gave our members the opportunity to put our FFA values into action while giving back to the community in meaningful ways. The day began with students spreading holiday cheer by Christmas caroling for teachers across campus and staff members at the district office.
From there, students participated in multiple service projects throughout the community. One group participated in PALS (Partners in Active Learning Support) to visit a local elementary school, where they taught an interactive lesson on how cookie ingredients travel from farm to fork, helping younger students better understand the role agriculture plays in their everyday lives. The young students put this into action, creating their own frosting out of heavy whipping cream! At the same time, another group volunteered at Peachy Day Farms Rescue, where students cleaned dog runs, cleaned horse stalls, fixed goat stalls, trimmed hooves, and assisted with various ranch tasks.
The day concluded with students coming together to tie blankets for patients at Sutter Hospital, reinforcing the importance of service and compassion. Liberty Ranch FFA members also organized a donation drive throughout the last few weeks, providing over $3,000 in toys for children at Shriners Hospital to enjoy this holiday season. Donations were carefully packed and delivered in time for Christmas. In total, more than 100 students participated in the Day of Service, representing over one-third of our chapter membership and demonstrating an incredible level of involvement and dedication.
Liberty Ranch FFA members are proud of the leadership, teamwork, and generosity shown throughout the month. These experiences not only strengthen our chapter, but also reinforce our mission to grow leaders, build communities, and advocate for agriculture. We look forward to continuing to make a positive impact within our school and the greater community!
