Young Farmers and Ranchers

Young Farmers and Ranchers is a committee of the Farm Bureau that organizes young people between the ages of 18-35 who support the agricultural community. As a member your voice will join those of your peers to speak about agriculture. To find out more, call the Farm Bureau office at (916) 685-6958 or email us at sacfarmbur@msn.com.

Ag Foundation

The Sacramento Farm Bureau Foundation for Agricultural Education was established in July 2000. Its primary purpose is to provide scholastic financial awards to high school and college students continuing their education at the university level. We have two scholarship programs. The first is for students majoring in agricultural related areas such as animal science, bio-technology, veterinary medicine, Ag business, and aquaculture. This year scholastic awards were given to three very deserving students who received $1,000 each. The second program gives scholarships to children of agricultural employees.

The Foundation raises funds through an event called Wine Tasting in the Park. The Wine Tasting, is an elegant evening at the Elk Grove Park Pavilion, where you can taste the best wines from Sacramento, San Joaquin, El Dorado, Amador, and Napa counties. In addition to the wine tasting, the highlight of the evening is a live and silent auction that includes gift baskets, wine gift packages, weekend vacation packages, and artwork.
