The Sacramento Farm Bureau Foundation for Agricultural Education was established in July 2000. Its primary purpose is to provide scholastic financial awards to high school and college students continuing their education at the university level. We have two scholarship programs. The first is for students majoring in agricultural related areas such as animal science, bio-technology,
veterinary medicine, Ag business, and aquaculture.
The second program gives scholarships to children of agricultural employees studying in any area.
250 guests gathered at McConnell Estates Winery to celebrate local food and wine; with the proceeds to benefit local students in the form of scholarships. Jackson Catering teamed up with local Winemaker Mike Wackman,
co-owner of McConnell Estates Winery, to produce an appetizing dinner with various wines for each course.
Most of the ingredients for the evening's dinner were locally grown
by area farmers and ranchers. "We are thrilled to see the continued support and growth of this annual event. Our generous supporters
have enabled the Foundation to provide increased scholarship support to deserving students," says Nicole Bell, President of the Sacramento Farm Bureau Foundation for Agricultural Education.
